Imperial Log Home Builders has recently completed building our log home and I wanted to let you know of the absolutely awesome experience this has been.
My wife Karen and I looked at several companies, visited different manufacturers models, met and spoke with their representatives prior to our first meeting with Ellen and Paul Price. One meeting was all it took.
We met at Ellen and Paul's model home and fell in love with their home right then and there. This had not happened in the other homes we had visited. Ellen is a wonderful representative of your company who seems to know everything about these homes. We left that night knowing who was going to build our home.
When we told them who our builder was, he looked at us with kind of a smile and told us just how lucky we were. We could not agree more, Paul and his wonderful crew are meticulous to a fault sometimes. I mean who is going to notice a 12' log being off 1/16th of an inch in a non-critical area. Paul did, and I watched him and his crew struggle with it until it was perfect. Wow.
We cannot say enough good things about these two, although my wife was a bit surprised to find out that Paul did not actually come with the house. That is how integral he was in this process. Ellen has been the rock in this. I 'bugged' her constantly it seemed and she always had answers for me, if not right then, you had it soon afterward. She knows her 'stuff' and shares it with you, as the 3 or 4 calls I make to her each week attest to.
Thanks again, you are making the building blocks of a house and Paul and Ellen Price are making them homes. What a great combination.

During the last year we have had the pleasure of dealing with two of the most wonderful, knowledgeable and professional people we have ever met.
When we decided to build a log home on our property in Brooklyn, Michigan we started researching various companies on the internet. When we contacted Paul and Ellen at Imperial Log Home Builders we knew we had found the right team to help us build a dream.
From day one they helped us through the process and supported us with advice and expertise. Ellen is the driving force for the sales side and never once made us feel like we were going the wrong direction. Paul is the man when it comes to construction and experience with building, he was always there to answer our many questions about the construction process.
We decided to be our own contractor for the building process and Paul was absolutely the best teacher a novice could have. He never made us feel like we were just a customer. He and his team, Ike and Nik and all those power tools were meticulous in the building of our home, if we didn’t know better we would have thought he was building it for Ellen and himself. Every corner is square, every board level. Along the way he made many suggestions on the best way to do things and is absolutely creative when it comes to carpentry and building. Paul did a lot of the trim in the house and it came out spectacular. When I asked questions, Paul always gave me an answer and never made me feel like it was a dumb question.
As we said earlier, Ellen is the sales side of the team but she is much more than a sales person. Every step of the way from the day we put the deposit on the house, she made sure that everyone followed through, from getting us plans, drawings, changes and information that we requested. She helped me with leads for sub contractors and put us in touch with a number of people that were willing to give us information and advice. She was always there with her camera and made us feel like we were part of her family.
When we started we told Paul and Ellen that we wanted to be in our new home in time to have Thanksgiving dinner November 2006. The home was delivered on April 11th 2006 and yes we had Thanksgiving dinner. We received our occupancy permit on November 20th 2006.
Paul and Ellen are and will always be considered family to us and will be welcome in our home. They are the best, we could not have done it without them.

Since I was sixteen years old and saw my first log home my dream was to have one of my own. After purchasing property on Lake Diane in Southern Michigan some 35 years later the dream suddenly became a possibility. My wife, Renee, and I began to research different home styles to build. Renee was not at all sold on the log home idea until one day in the mail came a contest with the grand prize of a log home. It was impressive enough where Renee agreed to at least let me research some different styles, make some appointments to look at some actual homes. There was no turning back. The more I looked, the more convinced I became.
After researching some 400 websites, visiting model homes, reading hundreds of articles in Log Home Living, and attending several log home shows I was thoroughly confused. That is when I met Paul and Ellen Price of Imperial Log Home Builders. They were so helpful and knowledgeable they were an easy choice to work with. They explained the process for choosing the logs, how and when the wood is cut, dried, and notched. Additional consideration was the look of the finished logs, the warranty, and their help in design. Their flexibility with the client was great. I think I changed my mind every week on something and they worked very well with us. The personal attention they gave us along with the patience they had with this finicky, ever mind changing customer was awesome. Their personal touch and extra attention to detail made Imperial Log Home Builders an obvious choice. Paul’s expertise as a builder made my many design changes seem not only possible, but very easy to accomplish. Between Paul’s expertise and the drafting department’s ability to put my ideas on paper, my dream was going to happen. Their help at every step of the process made this seemingly overwhelming project turn into an exciting and fun experience.
Some of the different features that add to our home’s enjoyment are the dormers on both sides of the home and the large gable window we added to the back of the home. We did this because our front faces the lake and the normal back of the houses faces the street. I basically asked them to give me two fronts to the house. They did just that and I’m very happy with the result. Paul showed us how we could add a turret dinette room off the kitchen which is quite a conversation piece with the rounded opening from the kitchen to the turret. Renee’s added touches of mixing drywall on the interior walls compliments the logs and the modern look of the ceramic floors and carpeting to make an interior very contemporary and yet still homey and warm. The great room features a stone fireplace stretching to the 24 foot peak in the center of the all glass prowl front.
This home is so warm and homey yet contemporary it changes the stereotypical description of log homes inside out. Everyone who visits leaves amazed at the style and warmth. The typical comments are “this is not at all what I envisioned” and usually followed with “this is now my dream home.” To say we are thoroughly pleased is an understatement. My dream has come true.

My search for a log cabin began as many others had. I soon grew tired of looking at catalogs and visited a few model homes. It seemed like everyone had some reason why their product was the best.
Along the way I met with Imperial Log Home Builder’s and visited their model home. I was impressed by the workmanship and the friendly informed team of Paul & Ellen Price. Paul is an excellent builder, and Ellen handles the sales area skillfully. As a result, we were able to work well as a team. During construction many other trades people worked on the site and they all had positive comments about the materials and Paul's craftsmanship. I am very pleased with Imperial Log Home Builders!!
